Just finished narrating the Story of Joan of Arc, by Andrew Lang. Andrew Lang collected and published a large number of books of fairy tales. He was also a noted history scholar and translated Greek classics. He researched the story of Joan of Arc extensively, from court records and other accounts from the day. He has condensed the mass of sometimes contradictory evidence into a clear and simple narrative, suitable even as a children's story. It may read like a children's story, but Joan of Arc was a very real figure who played an historic role in the events of her time.
